As the anxiety about coronavirus increased day by day, large companies started to take measures within themselves. Google, one of the largest internet companies in the world, sent tens of thousands of employees working at its offices in Canada and the United States .

As of today, the request for those who can work at Google offices and carry out their work from home to stay in their homes until April 10 has been sent to their e-mail addresses as of today. The company, which does not want to come to the office in cases where it is not necessary, stated that the decision will be revised after 10 April. Google previously asked employees in other offices, particularly in Europe, to work from their homes if possible.

More than 100,000 people were working in Google's offices in the North American region , with offices around the world . After the decision, it was decided that most of the 100 thousand employees would start working from their homes.

Google sent their employees home

After the issue was reported on sites like Bussiness Insider , Google CEO Sundar Pinchai made a statement regarding the decision taken through his official Twitter account. Pinchai said: "If you can, staying away from the community will prevent the spread of the virus, and more importantly, by preventing the burden on the health system [by preventing the spread], it will enable those who really need it to receive services. If you can, please support it."

Google also has employees who are unable to work from home. It was stated that these will still continue to come to the offices, and reminded that the offices are not completely closed. Saying that only people are looking for ways to show less contact with their environment, Google officials stated that they want to contribute to the slowing down of the spread of the virus.
