What is Encryption?
Encryption is the process performed on data to prevent an information (text, photo, sound recording, personal information, etc.) that is wanted to be hidden from being read or changed by someone else with the help of an algorithm. An encrypted data can only be decrypted when the key used in the encryption process or the corresponding secondary key is known. Encryption is a widely used security method in data transfers over the Internet. In e-commerce sites, users' data (personal information, credit card information) is encrypted with SSL certificates, preventing access by third parties.
