Global smartphone shipments statistics for the third quarter of 2021 have been published. According to the data of market research company TrendForce, global smartphone production in the third quarter increased by 5.7
percent year on year and reached approximately 325 million units. However, it was stated that this growth rate was behind the same
period of the previous year. The company shared the information that the general performance in the third quarter of 2021 is weak
compared to 2019 before the epidemic. Samsung beats arch-rival Apple by a wide margin Samsung increased its smartphone production by 17.9 percent year on year to 69 million units in the third quarter of 2021.
TrendForce explained the growth achieved by the South Korean company with the stabilization of the device assembly factories
in Vietnam in terms of capacity efficiency. Samsung has become the world's largest smartphone manufacturer by taking the lead in the global market share in terms of
production. On the other hand, Apple increased its production volume by 22.6 percent year on year to 51.5 million units, thanks
to the iPhone 13 series it introduced in September. As a result of the success it achieved, the US manufacturer placed second in
the ranking.
