Google's smart fabric technology is presented to developers!

The tech company is making the project available to developers outside of its own body and a few partners…

The smart fabric technology, named "Project Jacquard" by Google, is offered to developers for the first time in 6 years. Thus, developers will be able to incorporate the technology into their own software with the Jacquard Software Development Kit. Another concept that the company conducts research within itself is thus opened to the use of third parties.

Google talked about the project especially with its smart jacket developed with Levi's. In addition, Google, which has developed products with a few companies such as Samsonite and Yves Saint Laurent, is liberalizing the scope. At this point, the way to include the data obtained from the sensors in the fabric with the development kit in third-party applications opens.

It is not yet known why the technology company opened the project to wide use outside of its own structure and a few business partners. However, it is thought that it can offer 'strong' opportunities to entrepreneurs with the opening of a long-running software process.
On the other hand, Google has set the limits 'for now', underlining that new features cannot be added to the existing Jacquard application. However, this limit is likely to be released in the near future.

Jacquard was developed by Google's famous ATAP (Advanced Technology and Projects unit). The first product, on the other hand, was offered for sale by Levi's in 2017, 2 years after its release, with a price tag of 350 dollars. This jacket, which came with sensors, was renewed in the following years and its price was reduced.
