After 40 days elapsed after the first mobile satellite of Turkey, Grizu-263A, which the Grizu-263 team started working in Zonguldak 5 years ago, was launched from the United States at 18:40 on 13 January, data exchange continues uninterrupted. While more than 5 thousand data transfers are made in 40 days, the new goal of Grizu-263A is to transfer data from its own ground station established in Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University, aiming to implement a two-sided data transfer idea.
“We are ready to make new experiments”
Stating that they checked the whole system one by one and made the measurements, Prof. Dr. Bülent Ekmekçi said, “During the first 40-day period, the satellite, which we call spin, was spinning fast around its own axis and this had to be balanced. It was one of the conditions for effective commissioning of other subsystems. Within two weeks, we achieved this balancing faster than we expected. We had a fear of losing in space. Loss of the signal would make it difficult for us to find our satellite in that vast universe. We created this model when our system worked in a healthy way. Now we are ready to do our other experiments. We check the whole system one by one and make the measurements. The results so far show that we really got what we wanted.”
“We were excited to meet with our President”
Explaining that the Grizu-263 team will meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Zonguldak program, but after the cancellation of the program, the meeting with the AK Party Deputy Chairman Binali Yıldırım, 263 Team Advisor Prof. Dr. Bülent Ekmekçi said, “We were very excited as a team. We were excited to be able to meet with our President. But there was a change in the program and Binali Yıldırım and our team came together. We talked about the future of our team and the work done. Our young people have a lot of things to say about the future, they have been spoken, we look to the future with hope”.

Osman Turgut of the Grizu 263 Team, who stated that after the Grizu-263A was launched from the United States on 13 January, they had received more than 5 thousand data after about 40 days, said, “The 40-day process was very exciting for us. We have followed this exciting process not only with us but also with ground stations in many parts of the world. In this way, I can say that we get a lot of data. In this process, we received nearly 5 thousand data numerically. Not only that, we were able to graph this data as it appears on the screen. This data has now turned into a form that everyone can follow in an online environment. In addition, the most important thing for us in this 40-day period was the continuity of communication. After 40 days, we saw that our telemetry data is still being transmitted. This means that our communication continues in a healthy way.”

University student Osman Turgut from Team Grizu 263 announced his new goals. Expressing that they only received data in a 40-day period, Turgut stated that their new target will implement the idea of a bilateral data transfer by transferring data from the ground station and said, "All satellites tend to move in space after leaving the Earth orbit or close to the orbit. Our satellite has almost zeroed its rotation thanks to the passive magnetic control card on its own. Resetting this rotation will be a reference source for us in future projects. We have done everything right so far and will continue to do so. So far, our satellite has fulfilled certain stages. We have received data from him so far. We will also try to send data from now on. We will implement the idea of a two-way data transfer by transferring data to our satellite from our own ground station established at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University because of the ground.”
