What is a Search Engine?

Search engine meaning, as the name suggests, is a mechanism that provides access to the information that is curious or desired to be reached. It is generally used to provide access to data sought over the internet. The web robot consists of three different components such as the search index and the user interface. The most frequently visited websites are listed in order according to the searched word or sentence.

How Does a Search Engine Work?
The robot navigates between websites and the links that these sites provide to each other, and protects the content of these pages. These contents are indexed within themselves and made suitable for search. The user interface allows searching for existing indexes.

To reach the searched pages, the desired word is written in the specified field and then the search button is pressed. Some sites register themselves with the search engine. This way, they become more available. There are websites that index words in order to stand out and be found among the millions of sites on the Internet. These services include various types such as search index, search engine and metasearch.
