We recently conveyed to you the developments regarding Pepper, which appeared years ago as Softbank's humanoid robot. According to new information conveyed by Reuters, Softbank has decided to stop the production of Pepper, its humanoid robot.
Known for its investments in sectors such as technology, energy and finance, Japan-based SoftBank has studies in many areas. At the forefront of these areas is robotics. According to the information we have received, SoftBank has decided to downsize its operations in the field of robotics.

In line with this decision, the production of Pepper, the company's humanoid robot, will also be stopped. SoftBank's robotics unit is headquartered in France. According to Reuters, SoftBank will part ways with its 330 employees in France. The shrinkage in France is expected to take place in September.

According to sources close to the company, Pepper's production was actually stopped last year and it is quite costly to restart. For this reason, it was decided to stop production altogether.

According to the information shared by a source close to the company, 27 thousand Pepper robots have been produced to date. For now, it remains unclear how Softbank's robotics work will continue. To remind you, Turkey İşbank's robot Pepper was also introduced at the Webrazzi Developer 2018 stage.
