Bill Gates Resigns From Microsoft Board: Here's Why

Bill Gates, co-founder and former CEO of Microsoft, announced that he resigned from the board of directors.

Bill Gates, 65, among the richest people in the world, has resigned from Microsoft's board of directors. Bill  Gates resigned in 2008 as Microsoft CEO. Gates said he wanted to focus on fighting global health and development, education and climate change.

Bill Gates announced that he decided to leave the company's board of directors to spend more time on charitable activities . Gates also  announced that he had decided to leave the management of the Berkshire Hathaway company.  Gates made the following statements in his statement:

"Regarding Microsoft, resigning from the board doesn't mean getting away from the company. Microsoft will always be an important part of my life. I will continue to take care of Satya and technical leadership to help shape the vision and achieve the ambitious goals of the company. How the company can benefit the world and its progress. I feel more optimistic than ever. "

 Bill Gates , listed as the second richest man in the world by Forbes , founded Microsoft with Paul Allen.

The company began dominating the operating system market for personal computers with MS-DOS in the mid-1980s, and then went public in 1986, continuing its leadership with Microsoft Windows. Bill Gates also made history as the youngest billionaire in a year.
