**What is a Digital Notary?**
Digital notaries are organizations that provide notary services for information and files in electronic media. They show their customers that a particular data or file exists exactly at a particular time. They can be used to establish general security in compliance with the law, to protect intellectual property or to protect parties in case of rejection of a transaction in e-commerce businesses.
